Weller, an accomplished academic who famously was "Robocop" and has directed and starred in numerous films and television series, also praised working with Sutter and EP Paris Barclay, in what he says is, "one of the most wonderful experiences I have ever had in the motion picture business."
Peter Weller confirms what I have said all along, that the testosterone fueled FX smash hit "Sons of Anarchy" is galvanized by the character of Gemma (Katey Sagal) and all the women who surround her in the cast.
Weller gives high marks to these women of SAMCRO, who he says are more than mere "marital appendages" to the great actors on the series.
Showrunner Kurt Sutter uploaded a very revealing interview with Weller to his official YouTube channel where Weller goes in-depth on a scene between Gemma and Tara (Maggie Siff) - from either episode 3 or 10 - the two slices of Season 4 "Sons of Anarchy" that Weller directed.

As fans know, season 4 will pick up fourteen months later from S3, after most of SAMCRO is released from prison. Showrunner Kurt Sutter is also cast as Otto, one of the SAMCRO members in prison still, and he delivers a tour de force of his very own in the premiere episode.
This season sees a new pick up on the Charming post-jail release politics, and an internal division within SAMCRO, specifically with a disenchanted Jax (Charlie Hunnam) and a weary Clay (Ron Perlman).
Check out the interview with Weller below. This is one of the most insightful teases so far to the new season, which comes September 6.
Stay tuned to M&C, as we will be gifting five (5) lucky SAMCRO fans the DVD set from season three, plus more goodies weekly as we rev up with tune in features for every new episode.
