There are still rumblings of an H.G. Wells spin-off around, and this episode shows what that could be like. Word had it that it would be set in the past, and it could really work!
Another genre guest appears on ‘Warehouse 13,’ and a character with a history dealing with Pete and Myka returns.
Here's the episode's description from tv.com: "Pete and Myka are forced to team up with Helena to seek her advice on an artifact that the dealt with in 19th century London... and has turned back up in the present day to wreak havoc."

Although she’s bronzed and a captive, Artie is able to bring Helena back as a hologram to help find Joshua’s Horn, which has been disintegrating people in Pittsburgh.
This episodes jumps from the 1800s to the 1960s to the present day effortlessly. We see Jack and Rebecca, who Myka and Pete had jumped into using Helena’s “time-travel device” last year.
In the past, Helena had participated in the construction of a rocket ship, then a colleague betrayed her and inserted Joshua’s Horn in the device as a power source. She managed to change its trajectory, saving the planet at that time.
In the 1960s, the rocket returned to Earth, weaving a path of destruction in Ohio. Agents Jack and Rebecca attempted to stop the Horn’s power, but lost track of it when Rebecca shot a bullet at it. A young boy who thought aliens had abducted his father ended up with it, and he took it with him to Pittsburgh.
When the time comes to confront that boy, now grown into an adult, Helena redeems herself, and even Pete, who has ragged on her the entire hour, admits she did well. However, she still must return to her bronze prison when the case is done.
Clearly, this episode feels like a potential pilot for the Helena spin-off. It’s likely that the response to it will have a lot to do with that new show happening.
So, who was the genre actor guest-starring this week? Gareth-David Lloyd, who was the police officer who worked with Helena in the 1800s, played Ianto on the ‘Doctor Who’ spin-off ‘Torchwood’ until his character was killed. Some fans are still sore about that. If he got to star with Jaime Murray, who plays Helena, in that new spin-off, that could work out well for both actors.
Even though the “regulars” didn’t get a lot to do with week, it still was an enjoyable episode.
What’s happening next week? The episode is called “Don’t Hate The Player,” and in it, Fargo from ‘Eureka’ returns to the Warehouse as the team tries to free gamers stuck in a fantasy world. Don’t miss it!
