Adele to shine on MTV VMA's in August

The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Adele is set to ring in the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, August 28, at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Joining the British chanteuse are American bad boys Lil Wayne and Chris Brown.  The event will be airing live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles next month.

This is a first for Adele on the VMA stage. Her smash hit "Rolling in the Deep" video is up for awards: Best Female Artist, Best Pop Video, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Direction, Best Editing and the night's big prize, Video of the Year.

Also appearing are Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West and Pitbull up for Moonmen at the show.

Perry has a total of nine nominations, including Video of the Year, Best Female Video and Best Pop Video.
