Stephen Lang and 'badass' Terra Nova stomp the Con (VIDEO)

Stephen Lang made an impression in "Avatar" as a fierce presence, and he continues his Alpha Male charm in FOX's upcoming dino-mite drama "Terra Nova", brought to the network by Executive Producer Steven Spielberg.

It also shines with former "Life on Mars" hunk Jason O'Mara, the patriarch Jim Shannon who goes back to the future to save humankind on the new effects-laden series.

Ballroom 20 at Comic-Con Saturday was ground zero for a premiere screening of "Terra Nova," coming to TV (FOX) on Sept. 26.

The Shannon family of five, led by O'Mara as Jim Shannon, are transported through a high-tech portal to a prehistoric era with dinosaurs.

Executive Producer Jose Molina assured all in the Ballroom that the production was going to be money: “We are expensive show. You will see the money on the screen. It’s going to look badass.”

“Of course we like to kill people,” says Molina. “We like to see slashers. Yeah, you are going to see some pretty cool dino-on-man action.”

Stephen Lang expressed his amazement at Comic Con (his second one) and reveled in the attention his new show was receiving.  Lang plays Taylor, the uber masculine lead security authority who runs the prehistoric colony.

Also revealed at the Con, the news that Terra Nova won't recycle dinosaurs to decorate the FOX series. “[Spielberg has said], ‘Please no T-rex in the first season,’ ” director Brannon Braga told The Hollywood Reporter. “He’s just so identifiable from Jurassic Park. It was not a limitation in any way, shape or form. In fact, some of the dinosaurs we’re designing we are creating on our own.”

The prehistoric past offers humans the elements they need to survive, clean water, oxygen and plant life. There are bad humans back in the past too.
