AMC\'s "The Walking Dead" is what it is because of the brilliant special effects makeup work of KNB EFX hotshot Greg Nicotero.

AMC's "The Walking Dead" is what it is because of the brilliant special effects makeup work of KNB EFX hotshot and Emmy winning makeup artist Greg Nicotero.

His zombie makeup work gets the crack cast in the right frame of mind as they battle a post-apocalyptic landscape of the undead in Hotlanta.

AMC has yet to announce a specific release date for "The Walking Dead" other than October 2011.
