Margo Martindale part of a heap of great FX actors, some thoughts (VIDEO)

Mags would have broken out the "apple pie" this early AM, as FX - with the inexplicable omission of their top drama "Sons of Anarchy" - was shown some serious love by the Academy for the announced Emmy Nominations.

My next favorite character of Boyd Crowder (Walt Goggins) was thrown some Emmy nom-nom love too, just sorry his lady love Ava (Joelle Carter) missed the list, as this was a terrific season for the blonde beauty, perfectly matched in energy and wit to keep up with the Mercurial Goggins.

The star of the show, Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) got his due too as the critically acclaimed drama series "Justified" led FX in Emmy nominations with four.

Jeremy Davies also picked up his first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series as one of Mags’ less-than-prodigal sons, “Dickie Bennett.”
Alas, Margo did not make it out of the last season alive.

Louis C.K. received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy for his acclaimed comedy series, Louie, and he also earned an Emmy nod for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series.
C.K. is the first actor from an FX comedy series to be nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor, and the second writer to earn a nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (Robb Cullen & Mark Cullen received a writing nomination Lucky in 2003).
C.K. uses a group of actors in the series that I love seeing on the smallscreen: Pam Adlon (also a producer), Robert Kelly, Jim Norton, Nick DiPaolo, Todd Barry, Rick Crom, Eddie Brill and Hannibal Buress.
Like "Eastbound & Down," one of my favorite comedies, this show is meant for adults and is not a typical sitcom comedy that usually fills the category. Happy to see this show do so well.
