Kal Penn reunites with Neil Patrick Harris on 'How I Met Your Mother'

Sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" will reunite "Harold & Kumar" actors Kal Penn and Neil Patrick Harris.
Penn, who left FOX drama "House M.D." for a position in the Obama administration, is returning to acting with a recurring role on CBS "How I Met Your Mother", reports TVLine.
Penn will play Kevin, a possible love interest for Cobie Smulders’ Robin.
Penn served the Obama administration as an associate director in the office of public liaison.
"How I Met Your Mother" kicks off season 7 on Sept. 19.
