Not sure how I feel about this casting intel. Ted Danson, one of my favorite HBO "Bored to Death" characters, is heading to CSI to fill the Laurence Fishburne void.
Danson has sizzled as a guest star in past "Curb Your Enthusiasm" episodes, and as a corporate villain on DirecTV (formerly on FX) "Damages." Danson reportedly will keep his role on "Bored."
Danson will take over for Laurence Fishburne as the lead for the 12th season. Danson will play the CSI supervisor after heading the crime lab in Portland.
Fishburne left the series in May after CBS declined to renew his contract.
Fishburne was cast as Dr. Raymond Langston to replace William Petersen (Gil Grissom).
