Bill Maher reeled in a Marlin for his HBO show Friday night.
The bomb-lobbing Ann Coulter will be on to yell "Demons" to his usually liberal leaning audience and say things like (actual Ann quotes):
"Liberals love America like O.J. loved Nicole."
"There are a lot of bad republicans; there are no good democrats."
"We need to execute people like (John Walker Lindh) in order to physically intimidate liberals."
"Whether they are defending the Soviet Union or bleating for Saddam Hussein, liberals are always against America. They are either traitors or idiots."
"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity."
"Liberals are stalwart defenders of civil liberties -- provided we're only talking about criminals."
"The New York Times editorial page is like a Ouija board that has only three answers, no matter what the question. The answers are: higher taxes, more restrictions on political speech and stricter gun control."
"My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is he did not go to the New York Times Building."
"Usually the nonsense liberals spout is kind of cute, but in wartime their instinctive idiocy is life-threatening."
Anyhow, Real Time with Bill Maher is back Friday night July 8 and continues its ninth season (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT), exclusively on HBO, with an instant replay at 11:00 p.m. following the live presentation.
Allowing Maher to offer his unique perspective on contemporary issues, the show includes an opening monologue, roundtable discussions with panelists, and interviews with in-studio and satellite guests.
Joining Ann Coulter are historian Amanda Foreman and editor Christopher Hayes.
UPDATE:
CHAZ BONO and ETHAN NADELMANN are Maher's interview guests.
A favorite of subscribers since his first special on the network in 1989, Maher has starred in nine solo specials on HBO, including the hour-long presentations “Bill Maher…But I’m Not Wrong,” “The Decider” and “I’m Swiss” (both nominated for an Emmy® in the Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Special category), “Victory Begins at Home,” “Be More Cynical,” “The Golden Goose Special” and “Stuff That Struck Me Funny,” and two half-hour stand-up specials, plus the HBO specials “30 Seconds Over Washington” and “Comic Relief VI™.”
Other HBO playdates: July 10 (12:30 p.m., 12:40 a.m.), 11 (8:00 p.m.) and 13 (11:30 p.m.)
