We bid adieu to showrunner Peter Tolan and actor/producer/writer Denis Leary\'s outstanding series "Rescue Me," a show that has heart and bawdy humor, and more than a few Emmy award deserving moments from star Leary.
We bid adieu to showrunner Peter Tolan and actor/producer/writer Denis Leary's outstanding series "Rescue Me," a show that has heart and bawdy humor, and more than a few Emmy award deserving moments from star Leary.
The series wraps after this season.
Leary played Tommy Gavin, a seriously damaged firefighter grappling with his own survivor's guilt, and the fallout in his personal life post 9-11. The series centered on Gavin and his FDNY firefighters as they dealt with the challenges that come with facing horrific catastrophes. The series was well served by many Boston natives, including comic Lenny Clarke (Uncle Teddy) and Callie Thorne (Sheila).
"Rescue Me" returns to FX for its final season on Wednesday, July 13 at 10:00 PM ET/PT.
For fans of Gavin's ex lover, Sheila (Thorne) on FX’s “Rescue Me,” Thorne lands like a cat in USA's new series, “Necessary Roughness.” Callie was cast as Dr. Dani Santino, a flawed therapist who finds herself helping professional football players. The USA Network series premieres Wednesday at 10 p.m.
USA has also signed with Denis Leary to develop and co-write a half-hour pilot with Bob Fisher.
The Leary pilot is an adaptation of the British television six-part series “Sirens” which was inspired by EMT paramedic Tom Reynolds’ book, “Blood, Sweat and Tea.”
The premise involves the humorous goings on and dramatic conflicts of young paramedics.
Leary and Fisher will each also take on the title of executive producer alongside Jim Serpico (“Rescue Me”), Hal Vogel and David Aukin (“Hyde Park on the Hudson”).
Rescue Me Season 7 premieres Wednesday, July 13 at 10:00 PM ET/PT on FX.
