The Bering Sea is the stage where tough as nails men go to find the lucrative catch: King crab and Snow crab, which will fatten their bank accounts, if they can survive the frigid and dangerous high seas. Meet the men of the Cornelia Marie, Northwestern, Time Bandit, Wizard, Incentive, Lisa Marie and Trailblazer. On February 9, 2010, the Cornelia Marie lost their Captain, Phil Harris. ...more
Captain Sig Hansen nearly bit it with a rogue 35 foot wave that is shown on tomorrow's Deadliest Catch.
Premiering on Discovery Channel Tues., June 21 at 9:00 PM ET -
This season has had unrelenting bad weather. Another punishing winter storm plagues the fleet, as captains and crews fight through injuries and monster waves on Tuesday's all-new Deadliest Catch.
As the Time Bandit courts danger at the dock, the Ramblin’ Rose makes an all-or-nothing gamble and a Northwestern crewman (Nick the Nose) suffers a bloody blow.
At the recent Catch Con before the season, Sig told me about Nick Mavar's injury. "Did you see Nick's nose? [points at Nick's bandaged nose] He caught a picking hook in the face, it came flying off the stern ... it crushed his nose over but he kept working. Now he got his nose repaired. He asked if he could get a Hollywood nose job so his nose looked like Brad Pitt's, I told him to f*ck off!"
Meanwhile on the Wizard, deckhand Freddy Maugatai resorts to a native ritual to turn the boat's luck around.
But wait, there's more! ---
"After the Catch" again invites fans to watch their favorite crab fishermen rehash the season together. Tune in June 14 at 10pm E/P following Deadliest Catch to watch the crews celebrate and reminisce some of the shows best moments.
