Morgan Freeman Pushes the Universe to the Edge This Week on Through the Wormhole on Science Channel.
Season 2 Continues with an All-New Episode Premiering Wednesday, June 15 at 10:00 PM (ET/PT)
Fresh off the season premiere, Morgan Freeman returns to answer another mind-blowing question that has left scientists boggled for centuries.
The breakthrough series features the iconic actor as he takes viewers on a journey spanning space, science, and spirituality with experts exploring this week’s topic: Is there an edge to the universe?
For almost all human history, the universe has been believed to be infinite. Recent scientific evidence suggests otherwise. Could it be that the universe is finite?
It is commonly theorized that the universe began with the Big Bang 13.7 billion years ago. But since we can only see as far as light has traveled in that time, we can't actually make out the edge of the universe.
Pondering the possible shape of a finite realm, scientists find themselves in an even deeper dilemma: if this edge to the universe exists, what might lie beyond it? Could it be that there is a universe next to ours?
