Most Americans are clueless to who singer Cheryl Cole is, but in Britain she is allegedly the apple of their collective eye.
But her 'X Factor" gig fizzled in the States, and now it looks to be the same in the UK.
The BBC confirms the judging panel for The X Factor has been confirmed, with Take That's Gary Barlow, veteran judge Louis Walsh, American singer Kelly Rowland, and Tulisa Contostavlos of the hip-hop outfit N-Dubz.
The rumor about the Girls Aloud singer focused on the notion that American viewers would not understand her Geordie accent, which industry insiders have told Monsters and Critics is a preposterous untruth, given that a majority of US cities have a Scottish weatherman, whose accent is thicker than Cole's easily understandable speech.
Then rumors swirled that Cole and Abdul had zero chemistry, and that American audiences would somehow be "too conservative" to handle all the jailbird stories about Cole's family, the infamous Tweedy clan.
Other ridiculous hearsay included the idea that the slim Cole needed to lose weight.
But now it is being reported that Cole and her manager, "Will.I.Am", or William Adams, (Black Eyed Peas), were so frosted by the US debacle, they ignored any further calls from Simon and company.
