Last night Jay Leno hosted Chaz Bono, who told us about his recent documentary “Becoming Chaz,” and new book.
The 42-year-old child of Cher, born Chastity Bono, is now three years into a female-to-male gender reassignment transition.
Chaz talked about Sonny Bono, his late father: "He called me Fred,' Chaz Bono tells Jay Leno on last night's Tonight Show.
'We were in Palm Springs one weekend, and there was this toy store that I used to love to go. We were in there looking, I don't know if it was mugs or key chains - stuff that had people's name on them.
'They never had my name, so my dad said, "Pick a name - what do you think of Fred?"
"I apparently really liked it,' Chaz said. "It stuck for quite some time"
