Say what you will about TV's most volatile warlock who has earned the ire of one the the medium's most powerful showrunners (Chuck Lorre), Charlie knows how to play to his audience, even when he bombs.
Sheen is a softie when it comes to terrible stories in the news, and his donations
to a fund for the San Francisco man who was jumped and beaten to brain damage outside Dodger stadium are now added by his concerns for the tornado victims of Alabama.
Charlie Sheen raised $20,000 for charity at his San Francisco tour stop over the weekend, his rep, Larry Solters, said in a statement. The Bryan Stow Fund received $9,000 from merchandise profits and $4,000 additional from audience contributions when the actor passed around a "Winning" hat, according to several reports from the event. Sheen is kicking in $7,000 to bring the full contribution to $20,000 according to the Hollywood Reporter.
"As a sports fan, Charlie was saddened by the Dodger Stadium assault of Bryan Stow," says Barry Klarberg, Sheen's business manager, in a statement.
Sheen also told The Associated Press that he's planning a fundraiser for tornado victims in Alabama in the hopes to give the area "money, hope, faith and healing." Sheen is in Tuscaloosa on Monday, meeting with residents and first responders, according to the AP.
He's traveling with former major league baseball player Todd Zeile.
Sheen is tweeting his intentions:
