Behar: 'American Idol' Kara DioGuardi on Simon, Paula and Getting Fired (VIDEO)

Former "American Idol" judge Kara DioGuardi talks about her shocking and juicy new memoir, "One Helluva High Note." 

And tonight on The Joy Behar Show she dished all about the fun behind-the-scenes details.  Simon warned her not to be so serious and he ignored her outside the studio where she tried to connect with him.  She never saw Paula even touch a drink and she recommended they bring on Steven Tyler!

And while we’re on the subject of Paula, Kara had this to say:

“Paula was great. She was the heart.  And I was never trying to take anyone down…I was just trying to do my job…it’s really difficult to break up The Beatles.”

Oh no she didn’t!

Joy even asked if she quit or if she was fired…and Kara said she asked to be released from her contract..mmm hmmm.
