Then there are people like me, who never read the books and fell in love with the story of House Stark and Lannister, and all the other denizens of those south of "the wall." a physical barrier keeping out supernatural creatures and spirits.
The incredible series "Game of Thrones", based on George R.R. Martin's vivid and epic book series Songs of Fire and Ice will see another season on HBO.
For fans of the book series, that is great news. The densely packed fantasy novels were so grand in scope, many wondered if a film or TV series could capture the intricacies of the Westeros realm, and all its varied Houses that have families bonded by blood in marriage, and set against each other in ancient feuds and bloodshed.

HBO spent over $50 million to breathe life into Martin's vivid world of Lords, Direwolves, White Walkers and their grand locations and exterior and interior sets.
The network has picked up a second season of "Game of Thrones" after big numbers for Sunday's premiere.
"Thrones" drew 2.2 million viewers in its regular 9 o'clock slot, and then added another 1.2 million for its quickie repeat at 10:05 p.m. In total, "Thrones" drew 4.2 million viewers, according to HBO's press statement this morning.
HBO is scheduling 11 repeats of the premiere episode over a roughly 30-hour span Sunday and Monday.
"We are delighted by the way David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have brought George R.R. Martin's amazing book series to the screen, and thrilled by the support of the media and our viewers, said HBO programming president Michael Lombardo. "This is the continuation of an exciting creative partnership."
