Several pairs of severed feet and a forensic podiatrist take the team to Canada and back in this week’s ‘Bones.’

Here’s this episode’s summary from tv.com: “Brennan teams up with a Canadian forensic podiatrist to determine the identity of the real victim after seven pairs of feet are found washed up on the U.S.-Canadian border, but six pairs turn out to belong to research. Elsewhere, Cam crosses a major boundary when she takes away Michelle's right to choose her own college.”

There was no need for another squint this week because the guest star filled that role nicely. Scott Lowell played Dr. Douglas Filmore, who wants to be considered a “forensic podiatrist,” something Brennan thinks is unnecessary and will lead to other ultra-specialization when what she does is all that is needed.

When a newbie Canadian cop trips over a set of feet that aren’t his own, that brings Booth and Brennan to the Canadian border. Eight pairs of feet are found there, and only seven were lost at a nearby “body farm.” So just who did that extra pair of feet belong to?

Filmore shows up at the crime scene and ends up going to the Jeffersonian, where he proves to be a valuable asset, eventually figuring out what happened. But the crux of the hour is based on his interaction with Brennan.

Literally everyone but Brennan feels that she went too far when she criticizes his work in an article she wrote. They all say she should apologize to him. After all, even his arm doesn’t work any longer, and Sweets thinks that’s a result of the verbal whooping Brennan gave him.

During the hour, the two spar and feel each other out. But Filmore is a soft-spoken man not given to confrontation, so Brennan interprets his lack of desire for an apology to have settled the matter. But even Booth says that she’s not revealing her true self, which can be very caring.

Eventually, he confronts her, and she does apologize, sort of. Anyway, it’s enough for Filmore, who returns across the border happily.

The other storyline dealt with Cam’s desire to get her daughter Michelle into one of the best schools in the country. In fact, she’s even faked an application for her. When the results accidentally are given to Hodgins, he opens it and finds out what’s happening.  He gives it to Cam, but gives her the “disapproval” look she deserves.

However, when Michelle comes crying to her that she and her boyfriend has broken up, Cam has the perfect solution! Luckily, Michelle says she will go that school, but do it on her own merits, not a fake application supplied by her mother.

Somebody needs to knock Cam in the head when it comes to dealing with her daughter. She was right to tell Michelle that she should aim higher than her when looking for a role model. Yikes! Good thing she’s a great administrator!

“Bones” will be back next week, and the episode is called “The Truth in the Myth.” The remains of a man who hosted a mythbuster program are found in a West Virginia wilderness, along with rumors of his death by Chupacabra and the presence of his rival from another show. Things only get more complicated after a video surfaces that puts paid to the theories of the crime. Back at the lab, Vincent Nigel-Murray has returned and combines his duties with working his Step 9, which results in some startling revelations.
