There are very few comedies on TV that make me laugh out loud. "Eastbound & Down" is one of them.
The HBO howler is about a washed-up Major League Baseball player who has hit the bottom, and returns home, only to wind up in Mexico (season 2) to look for his long-lost father (Don Johnson) and reflect on his actions and bailing out on his girl, April.
Powers returns to his small town to find April late in a pregnancy (his child) and the second season ends on their reunion.
Now only one season is left, and fans of this politically-incorrect comedy that pokes fun at everything, even Mexicans love of yellow rice, are bumming out big-time.
Good news though, as star Danny McBride and his wife Gia Ruiz are also expecting a baby boy later this year.
McBride revealed the news on Conan, Wednesday.
He said, "I got married last October. I wasted zero time - three months later I knocked my wife up ... I had never impregnated anyone before, so I didn't really realize what they teach you in health class is actually true - that's all it takes. It's amazing."
