Stars are getting into trouble for their Twittered remarks, and it is costing them real money.
The NBC reality show "Celebrity Apprentice" is extra mean this year. On the premiere episode, "Survivor" star and convicted tax evader Richard Hatch pushed around David Cassidy and then acted like he didn't do anything, and now Lisa Rinna's Twittered opinion of Star Jones from episode 2 may be the ammunition needed by the attorney to effect some sort of legal action.
The Rinna-Jones mess is on the heels of Gilbert Gottfried losing his Aflac spokesperson position after Tweeting jokes about Japan, and Courtney Love being sued for defamation (and losing) from her Tweets.
Fired on episode 2, Rinna blamed Star Jones on the show for trying to take full credit for writing the children's book that team ASAP put together, and then recently released tweets posting mocked up pictures of her and a red horned devil with a tongue sticking out saying "Great shot of me and Star Jones!" Allegedly Rinna had emailed Jones as well.
E! reports that Jones has saved the evidence which allegedly date back to the show's taping last fall, building her legal claim against Rinna.
Star reportedly has handed these emails and captured Twitter feeds over to the legal department at NBC and told the powers that be that they are evidence of harassment. A source told E! that Jones reportedly involved the business affairs departments from The Trump Organization and Mark Burnett Productions, responsible for "Celebrity Apprentice," to silence Rinna.
