Reality television stars Sarah Palin and Kathy Griffin have been taking pot-shots at each other for some time.
Now the rhetoric is amped up as Griffin plans to portray a Palin-like politico on FOX hit series "Glee," and the FOX news contributor Palin has labeled Griffin "a has-been" and "a 50-year-old adult bully."
Palin could not resist replying to a question regarding her thoughts on Griffin. Palin's anger now stems from Griffin's on-air remarks about the youngest Palin daughter, Willow, and comments that the 16 year-old made that were deemed homophobic by Griffin.
ABC News reports that Griffin's publicist has offered a back-handed compliment by way of a special invitiation to Griffin's Broadway show.
"As a fellow reality star, Kathy would like to extend free tickets to her upcoming Broadway show to reality-star Sarah Palin and her reality-TV crew. Kathy supports all reality stars regardless of what they say about her."
Both women are reality TV stars, with Griffin starring in the Emmy-winning Bravo TV series "My Life on the D-List," and Palin starring in a Mark Burnett-produced "Sarah Palin's Alaska" for Discovery.
Now Griffin has a theater production titled "Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony," which will run in New York March 11-19.
Palin spoke to FOX news about Griffin's upcoming FOX comedy "Glee" guest starring role: "You know, Kathy Griffin can do anything to me or say anything about me, because you know, she's kind of this; she's a 50-year-old adult bully is really what she is," Palin, 47, said. "She's kind of a has-been comedian and she can do those things to me. I would just ask for respect of my children. ... Kathy, pick on me, come up to Alaska and pick on me, but leave my kids alone."
Griffin has been baiting the ex Governor for years, since 2009 as she led Bristol Palin's ex Levi Johnston around in a trumped-up faux romance, appearing on CNN's Larry King and Anderson Cooper, quipping the hockey player, who is the father of Palin's first grandchild, was "building a love igloo in Wasilla" for the "couple."
