Dr. Oz and Gary discuss their differing views, while Gary reveals the 3 things he believes Dr. Oz is wrong about when it comes to dieting. Then, Dr. Oz and audience member Lisa (South Plainfield, NJ) uncover the 3 colors your body should never turn and why. Find out the real cause of those annoying hiccups as Dr. Oz and his Assistant of the Day, Sheron, expose the hidden source of these sudden spasms. Everyone has a bad habit that they just can’t kick. Today, Dr. Oz demonstrates how taking a simple vitamin can help fix some of your habit’s negative effects by playing a game with sisters Eileen (Coram, NY) and Mary (Shavertown, PA). TUESDAY – MARCH 8, 2011 “THE DEADLY NEW DRUG AT A CONVENIENCE STORE NEAR YOU”
There’s a new meth-like drug on the market: bath salts. Snorting, injecting or smoking powders with such innocuous-sounding names as ivory wave, red dove and vanilla sky can be fatal. Dr. Oz exposes the dangers of this deadly drug with Dr. Mark Ryan, Director of Louisiana Poison Control, as he addresses how his center is handling this rapidly growing problem.
Then, Dr. Richard Sanders and Dr. Julia Sanders (Covington, LA) share their emotional ordeal about their son Dickie’s fatal encounter with bath salts. There are tons of energy drinks out on store shelves right now with appealing advertisements and slogans guaranteeing to give you a mid-day pick-me-up. But, what exactly do they do? Christy (Villanova, PA) talks to Dr. Oz about her addiction to energy drinks.
Then, Dr. Oz and dietician Samantha Heller examine the effects of energy drinks to see if they really boost your energy. Plastic surgeon Dr. Stuart Linder reveals a new cutting edge procedure to erase saddlebags and shares the incredible before and after reveal of his patient Raechel (Calabasas, CA). Why should you take a health cue from the football watching, video game playing, beer drinking man in your life?
Dr. Oz demonstrates how your man’s habits can make you surprisingly healthier in a head to head challenge with audience members Kathy (Cherry Hill, NJ) and Lois (Baldwin, NY). Can fast food be made into healthy fare fit for a foodie? Dr. Oz challenges audience members Ruth (Holbrook, NY), Maria (Wolcolt, CT), and Beverly (Winston-Salem, NC) in a Top Chef-esque quick-fire battle judged by Tom Colicchio!
WEDNESDAY – MARCH 9, 2011 (REPEAT) “DR. OZ’S ULTIMATE CHECKLIST: ANTIOXIDANTS”
Dr. Oz teaches viewers Rhonda (Brooklyn, NY), Marisa (Staten Island, NY), Annamarie (Stafford, VA), and Donna (Brooklyn, NY) the importance of antioxidants in one’s diet, and reveals what you need to eat and drink in order to boost your body’s antioxidant level.
Then, audience member Patty (Mt. Sinai, NY) discovers the super-antioxidant powers of beets. Bodily functions are natural, but could holding them in be bad for your health? Assistant of the Day Michele (Dayton, OH) learns the dangers of holding urine, coughs, and burps.
Dr. Oz reveals to audience members Joan (Brooklyn, NY), A’isha (North Brunswick, NJ), and Roberta (Jericho, NY) the top causes behind winter allergies and how to eliminate them. Married couple Antonia and Raymond (Baltimore, MD) guess healthy “F” words during a game of Dr. Oz’s $1,000 Pyramid.
THURSDAY – MARCH 10, 2011 “IS YOUR PERSONALITY MAKING YOU SICK?”
Find out if your personality is making you sick with Dr. Helen Fisher, Chief Scientific Officer for Chemistry.com, as she tests Jocelyn (New York, NY), Kriste (Holland, PA) and Debrah’s (Hempstead, NY) personalities.
