This season of Celebrity Apprentice features AT LEAST six major 800 pound gorillas.
Gary Busey! Dionne Warwick! John Rich! Star Jones! These are not delicate flower types. Rich is my early favorite, simply because I have interviewed the man, and seen him in action for several projects. Even "crazy" Busey won't be able to ruffle him.
Dionne Warwick was a part of my own past, back when I worked at a talent agency that booked her music dates. Her concert rider in the 1980s included a demand that a Ms. PacMan machine be in her dressing room before she went on stage; it was a deal breaker for the promoter. She had to have it.
But Busey may be crazy like a fox, and the trio of NeNe Leakes, Star Jones and Dionne Warwick may be the female bossiness equivalent of a few heat-seeking warheads; all bets are off.
Already I hear that NeNe and Star are none too fond of each other, and poor LaToya, will she be able to crack that Triad of attitude? We will have to watch.
Hope Dworaczyk is a Playboy model and the one contestant that I have been bombarded with by her "people" for features and interview requests. She's not the one I want to talk to; that honor is a toss up between Lil Jon and Richard Hatch. I want to hear their fun prison stories.
Okay, okay, Gary Busey too; he would be an awesome "get."
I have several up-close-and-personal Busey stories, encountering this guy here in Los Angeles. Back around 2000, my first encounter was at a Japanese-style restaurant opening night party in Beverly Hills, where he knocked me over a rail in his rush up a short flight of stairs to get on TV with a local weatherman doing a live remote. About four years ago, while on the PCH in his black Mercedes, he was sticking his head out the car window screaming at people driving by to "get the hell out of my city."

The series premieres next Sunday, March 6th at 9/8c. This season features Gary Busey, who claims he can hear his toenails grow, to Hope Dworaczyk, who’s out to prove she’s a smart model, to Richard Hatch, who can’t seem to be nice to anyone.
Side notes: Am I the only one who thinks the Donald is ordering his bookers to get Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen for the next go-round? Weigh in on who would be a great "gnarly gnarlington" cast line up.
