Kevin Smith is a babe, filmmaker sheds 65 lbs. of chub, reveals cheekbones

We agree with Joy Behar, "Red State" filmmaker Kevin Smith is a total babe after shedding 65 pounds.

The outspoken Smodcaster was kicked off a SouthWest airplane a year ago allegedly because he spilled over into the next seat.  He now says he's lost 65 lbs.

But he's not ready to forgive and forget.

"I feel mixed feelings about losing the weight," Smith, 40, told Joy Behar on her HLN show Tuesday.  "I sympathize far more with heavier people than I ever will with thin," Smith says. "I'll never be thin."

Behar told Kevin what we noticed too, that he was quite handsome and to us, Smith even looked a bit like a younger Robert Downey Jr..

Despite his weight loss, Smith likes swimming in his roomy jerseys: "I felt at that moment, I was like, 'You know what? I'll lose the weight, but I'm not putting on thinner clothes,' " he says. "Because why? I'm still the same person I was when I was 65 lbs. heavier."

Recently Smith caught flak from some blogger websites and fanboys who were angry at how he handled a mock auction at the Sundance Film Festival for distributing his new film, "Red State." The film is a horror homage send up of Westboro Baptist Church's allegedly crazed leader, Fred Phelps.  The drama takes place in Middle America, where some teens receive an online invitation for sex, and encounter homicidal fundamentalists led by a Phelps' inspired character, "Pastor Cooper."
