ABC Family bets on Raven-Symoné, Lea Thompson and newcomer Katie LeClerc

The voice of Iridessa the Light Fairy, Raven-Symoné, from the popular Disney Tinker Bell animated film franchise is now working for Disney-owned ABC Family in a new series that will celebrate her Georgia roots.
ABC Family announced other pick-ups including the "Switched at Birth" pilot, plus the one-hour drama "The Nine Lives of Chloe King."
Raven-Symoné's "Georgia" is a half-hour comedy series that is a regional fish-out-of-water tale where Raven-Symoné is smack dab in the Big Apple, from the sweet Georgia Peach state. Raven-Symoné is an “aspiring actress with a larger than life personality.” Her life is entwined with her best friend (Majandra Delfino), a science nerd who helps her try to make headway in New York City. 10 episodes.
ABC Family has cast Lea Thompson, Constance Marie and newcomer Katie Leclerc in the key role of Daphne, in “Switched at Birth,” a pilot that is currently in pre-production for the network.
“Switched at Birth” is a one-hour scripted drama of two teen girls who discover that they were accidentally switched at birth. ABC Family synopsis of this story reveals our "switched" protagonists: Bay Kennish, a wealthy girl with an intact family and Daphne Vasquez (Katie LeClerc), deaf since childhood due to a case of meningitis, who grew up wanting with an impoverished single mother. This series also stars Lea Thompson and Constance Marie. 10 episodes.
"The Nine Lives of Chloe King" is a one-hour drama starring Skyler Samuels as a girl who “starts developing heightened abilities and discovers she’s being pursued by a mysterious figure. Chloe discovers she is part of an ancient race, hunted by human assassins for millennia." 10 episodes.
