Navid Negahban rounds out Showtime's 'Homeland' cast

Previously Mr, Negahban, an Iranian-American actor, played “Jamot” on the final season of FOX drama "24," along with guest-starring roles on "CSI: Miami," "Law & Order," "NCIS," "Without a Trace" and more.
Showtime's new drama "Homeland" announces a cast addition, and has inked actor Navid Negahban to portray the villain in the series.
Mr. Negahban will star in Showtime’s new psychological thriller, "Homeland" as Abu Nazir.
Previously Mr, Negahban, an Iranian-American actor, played “Jamot” on the final season of FOX drama "24," along with guest-starring roles on "CSI: Miami," "Law & Order," "NCIS," "Without a Trace" and more.
Mr. Negahban also has an international feature film fan base, and was critically acclaimed for his work in "The Stoning of Soraya M," winner of the 2010 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Foreign Feature. He also portrayed the brutal Afghan warlord opposite Tobey Maguire in Jim Sheridan’s feature "Brothers."
Mr. Negahban joins "Homeland" stars Damian Lewis as a Marine who returns home after enduring eight years as a prisoner of war in Baghdad, and Golden Globe
winner Claire Danes cast as a C.I.A. officer who suspects Lewis's character of plotting an attack against the U.S. Mandy Patinkin is cast as a veteran CIA Division Chief who mentors Dane’s character. Laura Fraser was cast in the role of Jessica, Brody's intrepid wife. Diego Klattenhoff will play Mike Faber, a Marine colonel and Brody's best friend who has become close with Jessica over the years that he has been MIA.
"Homeland" begins production in January 2011 and will be executive produced by Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, who recently served as executive producers on the long-running series "24."The pilot is loosely based on the Israeli television series "Prisoners of War."
