Ricky and his other longtime friend and creative collaborator Stephen Merchant took their Manchester UK mate, Karl Pilkington, to visit the 7 Wonders of the World.
At the recent Television Critics' Association press tour in Pasadena, CA., Ricky Gervais foreshadowed his irreverent take on celebrity culture by celebrating the mundane Mancunian, Karl Pilkington, who gamely revels in his ordinary life and is quick to call out Gervais as being akin to a cute dog who craps in the house (see video below).
Gervais has called An Idiot Abroad, "The most expensive practical joke I've ever done."
