For fans of the smoldering, sexy mama Gemma Teller-Morrow, played by stunning actress Katey Sagal in FX's brilliant drama "Sons of Anarchy," tonight finally saw her get some well-deserved recognition at the Golden Globes.
The third season of the biker drama starring Katey Sagal was singled out and took the Golden Globe Award for "Best Performance by an Actress In A Television Series - Drama" this Sunday live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
The news that Sagal, whose character Gemma runs the SAMCRO motorcycle club in Charming California, took the award tonight lit up social media, as her husband and showrunner, Kurt Sutter Tweeted from the event:
F*ck me!!!!! We won. Back stage with GG award winner Katey Sagal

And one journalist, Matt Mitovich tweeted, "Backstage at #Globes, Katey Sagal is asked if win will make hubby @Sutterink kinder to awards shows. "NO!" Kurt shouts from back."
Sagal is feral and feline as Gemma Teller-Morrow, the mother of Jax teller (Charlie Hunnam) and wife of Clay Morrow (Ron Perlman) who run an outlaw motorcycle club on "Sons of Anarchy," a California club with ties to Ireland and the IRA.
The season was punctuated by a heartfelt and emotional performance by Katey as she had to deal with her father's Alzheimer's disease. Her father Nate was played by esteemed actor Hal Holbrook.
The end of the season ramped up with Sagal's Gemma, along with her family in Ireland trying to get her grandson back from a kidnapping. These episodes featured some of the most gripping dramatic television moments in history.
Sagal beat out Julianna Margulies of "The Good Wife," Kyra Sedgwick of "The Closer," Piper Perabo of "Cover Affairs" and Elisabeth Moss of "Mad Men."
"I've just been working so many years and I'm so honored to be up here. My God, I can't believe this," said a shocked Sagal.
The FX series "Sons of Anarchy" debuted in 2008 to critical rave reviews.
