ABC and Salma Hayek get 'Wicked'

TCA news, as ABC is partnering with Salma Hayek to develop "Wicked" for the smallscreen.
Erik Jendresen ("Band of Brothers") is penning the script for an eight-hour miniseries event. ABC Studios partners with Hayek's Ventanarosa Productions and Hayek will producer with partner Jose Tamez.
"Wicked," is the "Wizard of Oz" tale reimagined from the Wicked Witch's POV, based on the 1995 book "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" by Gregory Maguire.
Maguire's book since has been a theater darling since 2003 as "Wicked." But the ABC miniseries is reported to follow the book.
