ABC gave fans of "Castle," 'Cougar Town," "Grey's Anatomy," 'The Middle, "Modern Family" and "Private Practice" an early pickup present in the TCA news today.
Not so sure are the series "Desperate Housewives," 'Brothers & Sisters" and even "Detroit 1-8-7" - which is surprising since the critics love the Michael Imperioli cop series.
ABC Entertainment Group President Paul Lee spoke today at the Television Critics Association.
Lee, who was the head of ABC Family previously, said he views the ABC brand as combining "smart with heart," offering shows that are "culturally defining, smart, big-tent aspirational television."
ABC Family is renewing smash hit "Pretty Little Liars" and "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" for another season.
