PGA TV nominations, some thoughts
By April MacIntyre Jan 4, 2011, 16:55 GMT

Also notably absent are the genuinely funny and original HBO series "Bored to Death" and \'Eastbound & Down." So is Starz "Spartacus: Blood and Sand." Please don\'t tell us that the boring "Pillars of the Earth" should be on this list, for shame PGA.
PGA television award nominees have been announced, and if this is any indication on how the rest of award season is going to fly, count us not impressed with the predictable taste of these members.
With the exceptions of AMC's "Breaking Bad," Bourdain's "No Reservations," Maher's "Real Time" and HBO's "Curb Your Enthusiasm," "The Pacific," "Temple Grandin" and "You Don't Know Jack," the awards are a rinse and repeat of last year's it seems.
As much as we absolutely love "Dexter," it couldn't hold a candle this season to BBC America's "Luther" or AMC's "Walking Dead," and once again, the excellent FX series "Sons of Anarchy" is invisible after a season that took a major chance and did it well. Also notably absent are the genuinely funny and original HBO series "Bored to Death" and 'Eastbound & Down." So is Starz "Spartacus: Blood and Sand." Please don't tell us that the boring "Pillars of the Earth" should be on this list, for shame PGA.
