Fox Business Network hosted the always opinionated mogul and reality TV kingpin Donald Trump today.
Trump was on FBN sharing his thoughts about his potential run for President and the state of our economy.
Donald Trump tells FOX Business Network’s (FBN) Jeff Flock the “country is doing very poorly” because “we have diplomats negotiating for us who don’t know the first thing about business.” Trump went on to say that President Obama is in “totally over his head” and he has never seen the “level of hatred” between Republicans and Democrats he is seeing currently.
On rumors that he will run for President:
“I have a lot of people wanting me to run. It’s not that they want me to run. They see how badly beaten, it’s just terrible what’s happening to our country. Our country will soon not be a great country if we keep going the path we are going right now. We don’t have the right people negotiating for us. We have diplomats negotiating for us who don’t know the first thing about business. We are doing many things wrong.”
On the state of the US economy:
“Certainly the country is doing very poorly. We are being whipped by China, whipped by OPEC, they are just having so much fun with us. We have leaders that obviously aren’t doing the job. They are laughing at us. China is making all of our products. Everything is being made in China. We are rebuilding China at our expense. How do you get the job numbers down when all our jobs are in China and other countries.”
On whether he stands by his statement that George Bush was the worst President:
“He certainly wasn’t a very good President. He got us into a war we shouldn’t have been in and he attacked the wrong country. Obviously the present occupant of the White House isn’t doing a very good job. It just seems he’s totally over his head.”
On whether he personally needs a tax cut and where he stands on the larger issue:
“Perhaps not. I must tell you I think taxes should remain as low as possible we have a very weak economy and raising taxes at this point would be very bad.”
On his statement that he has never seen this country in worse shape:
“I have never seen the kind of infighting between Republicans and Democrats that I am seeing right now. The level of hatred. There is no country spirit.”
On whether he blames President Obama for the partisanship in the government:
“No not necessarily, but perhaps the right guy would bring everybody together. Maybe he is trying right now. I think he is trying right now harder than he tried over the last couple of years.”
On what he would do differently if he were President:
“I would tax Chinese products and I would tax them very high. They are manipulating their currency. They are playing an unfair game and I would tax their product.”
