Jeremy Irons white hot on TV: star of 'Borgias' and Law & Order SVU role

Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe, SAG and Tony-winning actor Jeremy Irons' is a busy actor, appearing on NBC's "Law & Order SVU" and starring in Showtime's "The Borgias."
For Showtime, Irons is cast as Rodrigo Borgia, the cunning patriarch of The Borgia family who ascends to the highest circles of power within Renaissance-era Italy for Neal Jordan's stunning series. Their story begins as Rodrigo becomes Pope, propelling him, his two Machiavellian sons Cesare and Juan, and his beautiful daughter, Lucrezia, to become the most powerful and influential family of the Italian Renaissance.
Irons also makes his first appearance on episodic network television, in a special guest-starring role on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”
Irons will play Dr. Cap Jackson, a sex therapist who runs a sex addition rehab clinic in the upcoming “SVU” episode titled “Mask.” The episode will be filmed later this month and will air in early 2011.
Executive Producer Neal Baer says “we’re elated to work with an actor of Jeremy’s caliber. He brings depth, intelligence and charisma to all his varied roles and we couldn’t be luckier to have him guest star on ‘SVU.’”
