American institution Sesame Street\'s resident glutton, Cookie Monster, is being touted to SNL for the coveted hosting gig.
Lots of stars are tapped for Saturday Night Live, only a select few actually can pull it off with comic timing and finesse.
American institution Sesame Street's resident glutton, Cookie Monster, is being touted to SNL for the coveted hosting gig.
Another TV staple, Capt. Sig Hansen is of Discovery's "Deadliest Catch" is also being pushed for next year's crop on ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."
“Me know many of you think of me as cookie-eating fanatic bordering on glutton . . . but there are more to me than that and me want to show the world,” says Cookie in his pitch. “So me think it the time to branch out beyond me cookie-eating career. Me ready for next logical step — hosting Saturday Night Live.”
Popular fan-based social media is replacing the show booker it seems. Like the Betty White tsunami, there is a Facebook group titled "Cookie Monster should host Saturday Night Live" that is growing by leaps and bounds.
Why should Cookie have the gig? Our thoughts:
- Cookie lacks fear
- Cookie has the thickest skin of all the Muppets
- Cookie doesn't fret about his waistline or succumb to fad diets
- Cookie is the most focused of the Muppets (he want cookie, that is all)
- Cookie is the most even keeled of all the blue Muppets, Grover is too anxietal
