Camille Grammer may be dominating reality TV for Bravo in their Housewives franchise set in Beverly Hills, but her ex husband Kelsey Grammer is also returning to TV despite the less than stellar reviews of his last effort, "Hank."
According to Variety, Starz has given an eight-episode order to “Boss,” which will star Grammer as the mayor of Chicago.
Gus Van Sant is also on board to direct the pilot.
The project was a hot potato, tussled on between four networks, but Starz head honcho Chris Albrecht won the war with the full eight order, according to Variety.
The project is described as gritty and adult in theme.
Notably, “Boss” is the first TV project for Gus Van Sant, who is famous for many edgy films including “Drugstore Cowboy,” and “Milk.”
Variety quips that “Boss” was a construct of super agent Ari Emanuel, whose brother Rahm Emanuel is in the running to be mayor of Chicago.
