George W. Bush interview on Leno

By April MacIntyre Nov 19, 2010, 3:49 GMT

Jay Leno hosted President George W. Bush, who sat down on the couch at NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” (Monday-Friday, 11:35 p.m. ET) November 18 to talk about his new book "Decision Points" – and discussed being the butt of Leno's jokes, wanting grandchildren and life after the Oval Office.

"The last time you were here it was 2000, it was 10 years ago,” joked Leno. “And in the last 10 years, thank you for all the material."

Bush was non plussed by Leno's wisecracks, "You know, I hate to tell you, I don't want to hurt your feelings, but I was asleep." Leno asked if the President regretted any of the 14 decisions outlined in his new book. "Well, a big decision is that I'm comfortable with the decisions that I've made,” said Mr. Bush. “I think the reader will find that I took a lot of time to make the decisions.

“There's some things I would like to do over," he continued, "I wouldn't fly over Katrina in an airplane and have my picture released from 10 thousand feet above the damage conveying the sense that I didn't care when I cared deeply about the fellow citizens down there."

The President shared humorous moments in office.
