The prequel to "Battlestar Galactica" was canceled by Syfy.
'Caprica", starring Polly Walker, Eric Stoltz and Esai Morales, will be replaced by a new spinoff pilot, titled "Blood & Chrome."
According to Variety, "Caprica" will run the remaining five unaired episodes in the first quarter of 2011.
"Unfortunately, despite its obvious quality, Caprica has not been able to build the audience necessary to justify a second season," said Mark Stern, programming head at Syfy.
"Caprica" was a moody Earth-bound drama that was loved by critics, but failed to light up audiences.
