FX has greenlit "Wilfred" according to Deadline Hollywood.
The 13-episode comedy is slated for a summer 2011 launch. The series is based on the eponymous Australian show.
Executive Producer and pilot writer David Zuckerman describes Wilfred as comedy “about a guy, Ryan (Elijah Wood), the girl next door (Fiona Gubelmann), and mixed-breed dog, Wilfred (Gann), who is part Labrador retriever and part Russell Crowe on a bender.”
FX is home to a diverse group of comedies highlighted by "Louie," Louis C.K.'s melancholic NYC-centric gut-buster, sports fantasy league comedy "The League," Danny DeVito and Rob McElhenney's absurdist ensemble morality play, "Sunny In Philadelphia" and the sex-obsessed animated "Archer."
