Progressive Republican Meghan McCain, who supports gay marriage and the rights of LGBT community, is aghast at the remarks of Tea party candidate Christine O'Donnell.

McCain spoke on ABC's "The Week" program and expressed her feelings about Delaware Republican Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell.  "I just know, in my group of friends, it turns people off because she's seen as a nut job," McCain said on ABC's "This Week" program. "It scares me for a lot of reasons."

On "Real Time with Bill Maher" Friday night, host Maher ran a composite reel of O'Donnell from his "Politically Incorrect" series that aired on ABC in the late 1990s.  Maher previously ran old clips of Christine where she revealed she dabbled in witchcraft, and promised O'Donnell he would continue until she came on his HBO show.

O'Donnell has received national attention for her Tea Party-backed shocking victory in the Republican primary over nine-time U.S. Rep. Mike Castle, a former governor. In recent weeks.  Her stance on masturbation and her recent political ad that ran denying she was a witch have been fodder for political pundits and commentators.

"Christine O'Donnell is making a mockery of running for public office," McCain said on the "The Week."

"She has no real history, no real success in any kind of business."
