It’s a meat market out there, and Brennan and Booth have to solve a mystery in it!
Here’s this episode’s summary from tv.com: “A case at the Jersey Shore reveals Brennan's hip side, as she and Booth look into the death of a young man whose decomposing body is found near a local night club. Film footage discovered appears to provide a major lead, but it may not be what it seems. Meanwhile, back at the lab, Angela does her best to keep her pregnancy secret and Hannah bonds with the squints.”
Booth’s relationship with Hannah grows as she moves in with him. This makes Brennan even more uncertain of her interaction with Booth, but does he really want to be with the woman he met while in a combat situation? Sweets apparently doesn’t think so.
The murder of Richie “The V,” a body builder (the “meathead” in the episode title) takes the crime solvers into the world of the “Guidos,” young adults who prefer the company of friends to family, who don’t want to enter the “adult” world, instead spending their time tanning, working out and partying 24/7 in an effort to hang on to adolescence as long as they can.
Luckily, Brennan has been observing the culture through a “documentary” on TV, something she does believe is real since it is called “reality” programming. She knows how to “’Sup?” with the best of them, which Booth doesn’t get at all. We see lots of skin and muscles, which also doesn’t bother Brennan, but seems to inhibit Booth. Fun bits!
The solution to who killed Richie “The V” is an interesting one, but not entirely unexpected. When people are forced to provide services for those who don’t feel any limitations, like Peppy, they often don’t like it even though they need the job.
The rotating squint of the week is Colin Fisher, who is recovering from an apparent suicide attempt. When he was sleeping 20 hours a day, that was a red flag, he tells the group. So, whenever he starts to yawn, anyone around him asks if he is okay. This is another funny running gag that Bones does so well. I do like seeing these characters as they add an element of unpredictability to the show.
I’m still uncertain about Angela and her hubby’s storyline. It just feels standard. This week, Angela reveals to several people that she’s pregnant, but swears them all to secrecy. Yeah, right. THAT’LL happen.
It’s a fun show with the usual twists and turns to the mystery. It’s another episode that fans will enjoy!
Next week: “The Body And The Bounty,” in which the team goes on a search for missing body parts after they find a decomposing skull and hands in a dumpster. Sounds like a typical day at the Jeffersonian!
