Really sad news for the fans of the excellent new series "Lone Star", a casualty of the new fall season.
The Texas potboiler starring James Wolk and Jon Voight was killed. The new drama was about a charismatic con man and his double life dealings, and it has been officially pulled from the Fox schedule.
On Monday night, Variety reported that the show's second episode drew a little over 3 million viewers. Down from the sad 4.1 million that tuned in for its premiere episode Sept. 20.
Fox plans to run episodes of "Lie to Me" in place of "Lone Star" on Monday nights.
Monday is a tough night. NBC's "The Event" goes head-to-head with CBS's "Hawaii Five-O" and ABC's reality juggernaut "Dancing with the Stars" is on fire this season, helped enormously by a Sarah Palin appearance this week.
