Bill Maher is the king of Friday night HBO.
"Real Time with Bill Maher" is white hot this week as guests include conservative media pundit Andrew Breitbart, no shy flower, who is on panel Friday night (September 24) with "Family Guy" mogul Seth MacFarlane, another 800-pound gorilla.
Sparks are going to fly for sure.
Also, will more Christine O'Donnell "bodies" hit the stage floor Friday night?
Last week Maher offered Tea Party candidate O'Donnell a chance to stem the slow release of 22 episodes of Politically Correct where she came on and argued with celebrities over issues from an Evangelical Christian outlook.
Maher challenged O'Donnell to appear on his show, and noted she "was kinder than Sarah Palin."
Maher's salon continues its eighth season Friday, Sept. 24 (10:00-11:00 p.m. live ET/tape-delayed PT), exclusively on HBO, with an instant replay at 11:00 p.m., following the live presentation. Allowing Maher to offer his unique perspective on contemporary issues, the show includes an opening monologue, roundtable discussions with panelists, and interviews with in-studio and satellite guests.
The roundtable guests this week are journalist Andrew Breitbart, radio host Amy Holmes and “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane; Ann Druyan, creative director of NASA’s Voyager Interstellar Message Project, and Richard Tillman, brother of Pat Tillman, are interview guests.
Maher was the creator and host of “Politically Incorrect,” which was produced by HBO Downtown Productions and debuted on Comedy Central in 1993. The series moved to ABC in 1997 and ran through 2002.
His most recent book, “New Rules: Polite Musings from a Timid Observer,” made the New York Times best seller list, as well as best seller lists across the country. He is also author of the books “When You Ride Alone You Ride with Bin Laden: What the Government Should Be Telling Us to Help Fight the War on Terrorism,” “Does Anybody Have a Problem with That? The Best of Politically Incorrect” and the novel “True Story.” Maher also starred in the 2008 feature film “Religulous,” the seventh most successful documentary of all time.
Other HBO playdates: Sept. 26 (1:00 p.m., 2:55 a.m.), 27 (8:00 p.m.) and 29 (11:00 p.m.)
HBO2 playdates: Sept. 24 (1:50 a.m.), 25 (9:00 a.m., midnight), 26 (7:00 p.m.) and 28 (10:00 p.m.)
