When prolific author and hardcore New Englander Stephen King likes something, he gets headfirst into it.
King will make an appearance as “Bachman” in next week’s episode of Sons of Anarchy called “Caregiver,” which airs September 21st at 10:00 PM ET/PT.
For years he's been a topical guest columnist for EW, and he's getting his opus "The Dark Tower" ready for film and smallscreen development. King has also penned seven novels under a nom de plume, Richard Bachman, which he dusts off and cleverly uses as his guest starring character's name on yet another passion of his: FX's "Sons of Anarchy."
The third season of this rich, American drama boasts one of the most accomplished casts grouped together, and is like absolutely nothing else on television.
Visual sweeps of the open road and well-developed characters have sparked a wildfire of interest and a fanbase that spreads from the fictitious town of Charming, California to New Zealand, and all points in-between.
The tales that showrunner Kurt Sutter weaves with his writing staff speak to a primal hunger for the kind of uncomplicated story dressed with complex charismatic players that audiences want. The notion of extended family and brotherhood in a community ring true and right in these times especially, and the grey areas of human morality that SAMCRO live, work and fight in were never so vivid in modern TV drama.
King's no fool, and he's succeeded unconventionally in a large way, in many ways just like this series.
For those who may not be in the know, FX features an official SAMCRO blogger who recently sat down for an on-camera interview with Stephen King to discuss his upcoming role on the series and how his passion for Harley’s influences his life and his legacy.
The interview will go live on Monday, September 20th at http://soaseason3.blogs.fxnetworks.com/, so SAMCRO nation, please check it out!
