Spike TV’s hit original scripted sports/comedy series “Blue Mountain State” returns to the gridiron for a second season this fall starting Wednesday, October 20 (11:00 – 11:30 PM, ET/PT).
Denise Richards joins the cast as the contentious ex-wife of Coach Marty Daniels, played by Ed Marinaro.
The series chronicles the on and off-field antics of the fictional college football powerhouse Blue Mountain State.
Season two of “Blue Mountain State” finds Coach Marty Daniels (Former NFL-er Marinaro) under pressure to deliver a winning season after an embarrassing showing last year that has put his legacy and job security in grave danger. Adding to the coach’s troubles is the arrival of his contentious and meddling ex-wife Debra (Denise Richards).
The BMS Goats are led on the field by overzealous team captain Thad Castle (Alan Ritchson), who struggles with the decision to go pro after this season or return to BMS, and top recruit Radon Randell (new cast member Page Kennedy) whose talent is matched only by his outrageous behavior and huge ego. Off the field, the team is once again led by Alex Moran (Darin Brooks), the second string quarterback who is content riding the bench, and his best friend and team mascot Sammy Cacciatore (Romanski). Sammy’s troubles also multiply this season when his wild, crazy and sexy party-girl sister Mary Jo (new cast member Frankie Shaw) transfers to BMS.
Season two of Spike’s “Blue Mountain State” features numerous guest appearances including Bill Parcells, two-time Super Bowl Champion coach (NY Giants), four-time Pro Bowl QB and 1988 MVP Boomer Esiason (Cincinnati Bengals, NY Jets), four-time Super Bowl Champion Bill Romanowski (Denver Broncos), two-time NCAA All-American Brian Bosworth (Seattle Seahawks), actress Stacy Keibler, UFC® legend Chuck Liddell and renowned sports announcers Dan Patrick and Craig Carton.
