Jerry Lewis (born Joseph Levitch) is an American comedy treasure, whose dedication to one cause in particular has been steadfast year in, year out.

Lewis is the champion for Muscular Dystrophy, and has helmed a Labor day telethon since 1966, raising billions of dollars for those afflicted with the neuromuscular disease.

This weekend, the 45th annual Labor Day telethon, which lasts for 21-hours, commences at 9 p.m. Sunday night, lasting through Monday evening.
The telethon will feature:
"General Hospital" star Brandon Barash, Enrique Iglesias, Lynyrd Skynryd, WAR, John Ondrasik of Five for Fighting, OneRepublic, Barry Manilow, Herry Lewis, David Archuleta, "Biggest Loser" host Alison Sweeney, Nancy O’Dell, journalist Jann Carl, Nigel Lythgoe, Richard Belzer of Law & Order, Ace Young, Billy Gilman, comic John Pinette and many more.
