mun2 announces Fall slate, more Jenni Rivera and Chiquis and Raq-C

mun2 announces it will kick off the month of September by delivering a top-notch Fall 2010 programming grid. 

The new programming line-up kicks off September 3rd and includes a wide range of Friday night movie offerings and originally-produced specials. 

Also, on Saturday September 25th there will be back to back season finales of the network’s hit shows, “Jenni Rivera Presents Chiquis and Raq-C” at 3PM ET/PT and “The mun2 Look” at 4PM ET/PT.

mun2 Programming:

“mun2 Presents: Tito El Bambino En Concierto” – Premieres Saturday September 11th at 7 PM ET/PT

mun2 premieres its exclusive concert special featuring El Patron del Reggaeton, Tito El Bambino.  Shot in the Hollywood hotspot El Rey Theater in front of a live audience, ”mun2 Presents: Tito El Bambino En Concierto” is a one-hour mun2 special featuring the famed Puerto Rican artist performing all of his hit songs, including “Mi Cama Huele a Ti,” “Caile,” “Te Comence a Querer,” “La Busco,” “El Amor,” “Te Pido Perdon” and “Flow Natural.”

“Reventon: 200 Años de Mexico y Musica” – Premieres Sunday September 12 at 2PM ET/PT

mun2 celebrates Mexico’s 200th anniversary of Independence with a one-hour bicentennial special “Reventon: 200 Años de Mexico y Musica.”  mun2 host Yarel Ramos sits down with some of Mexico’s biggest names to remember the greatest moments in Mexican music history.  Catch exclusive interviews with Larry Hernandez, Chuy Lizarraga, Los Recoditos and many more as they chat about the hip, influential sounds south of the border – from the contagious rhythms of Banda and Norteña to the hottest sounds of regional urban.

“Decisiones Extremas” – Premieres Monday, September 13 at 10PM ET/PT, Airs Mondays- Thursdays at 10PM ET/PT

The hit Latin American series “Decisiones Extremas” returns to mun2 with all-new episodes and with English subtitles.  The series kicks off on Monday September 13th at 10pm ET/PT with“For the Love of My Daughter,” where a young rebel puts in danger anyone who stands in her way. The new season airs Mondays through Thursdays at 10pm ET/PT, and features edgier, more provocative episodes.

Specials and Movies:

“Stand Up to Cancer” – Airs Friday September 10th at 8PM ET/PT

mun2 will collectively join forces with the Stand Up to Cancer organization by simultaneously airing the commercial-free, one-hour special, “Stand Up to Cancer.”  The fund raising initiative will feature live performances by recording artists and celebrity guest appearances, as well as cutting-edge research and informative content by prominent figures in cancer research and patient advocacy.  mun2 talent Chiquis (“Jenni Rivera Presents Chiquis and Raq-C”) and host Yarel Ramos (“Reventon”) will also be taking a stand against cancer by participating in the one-hour event.

“Once Upon a Time in Mexico” – Airs Friday September 3 at 7PM ET/PT

mun2 kicks off its September 7PM movie time slot with “Once Upon a Time in Mexico.”  Starring Antonio Banderas, Johnny Depp and Salma Hayek, this sequel to “Desperado” follows a Mexican drug lord who pretends to overthrow the Mexican government, and is connected to a corrupt CIA agent who demands retribution from his worst enemy to carry out the drug lord’s uprising against the government.

“Stand and Deliver” – Airs Friday September 17 at 7PM ET/PT

mun2 brings viewers the theatrical masterpiece “Stand and Deliver” on Friday September 17th at 7pm ET/PT.  Set with the background of East Los Angeles, the film is a dramatization based on a true story of a dedicated high school mathematics teacher Jaime Escalante (Edward James Olmos) who is determined to change the educational system and challenge students to a higher level of achievement.
