Eddie Izzard back on telly, 'Tara' guest star

Fans of Eddie Izzard can rejoice, the facile-tongued Brit is back on US television, guesting n Showtime's quirky dramedy "United States of Tara."
Showtime sent the announcement out that Izzard was cast in a recurring role in the third season of the series created by Diablo Cody, which follows Tara (Toni Collette), a woman suffering from Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID).
Izzard is set to portray Tara’s psychology professor, a genius who is at first skeptical about DID. He soon finds himself fascinated by Tara and decides to further explore the condition.
Izzard shined opposite Minnie Driver in FX’s "The Riches," as well as his turn on the comics' roundtable "The Green Room with Paul Provenza."
The third season of The United States of Tara will air in 2011.
