Jackass for Mayor? Levi and Bristol EPA/SHAWN THEW
Levi Johnston keeps running his mouth and revealing what we already suspect.
Johnston, the father of Bristol Palin's son, Tripp, says he apologized to her mother Sarah Palin under false pretenses - only to make Bristol happy.
"I don't really regret anything," the former Hockey player told CBS's The Early Show in an interview about his experiences with the Palins of Wasilla.
"But the only thing I wish I wouldn't have done is to put out that apology, 'cause it kind of makes me sound like a liar. And I've never lied about anything. So that's probably the only thing. The rest of the stuff I can live with."
Levi said it was an alleged coercive environment that made him lie: "Trust me, it's easier to make them [the Palins] happy. If you gotta live with them, you gotta make them happy."
Laughably, and also sadly, Johnston is planning to run for mayor in Wasilla, Alaska.
He told CBS he would try to be a better leader than Sarah Palin, a media darling for the conservative movement.
"I can't guarantee or promise you anything but I'm gonna try ... That's the goal," Mr Johnston said. "I really don't think it's about qualifications," he said in response to questions about whether he was fit for the job.
"It's really about, you know, the people liking you and believing in you."
Johnston shared he was miserable with Bristol. "We were constantly fighting, just trying to make it work for Tripp. And it just wasn't the right thing to do."
Johnston says Bristol Palin is a bigger media fame seeker than even he is:
"I don't think I'm any more obsessed with making a career out of this than she is. Obviously, she's doing Dancing with the Stars.
"I wouldn't say I'm obsessed with it. I'm just taking the opportunities as they come."
Johnston is shopping a reality TV show Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor's Office.
It was the sixth time that Johnston has appeared on The Early Show over the past two years.
