Perhaps Joe Perry is angry that Steven Tyler is cutting into Aerosmith's AARP tour / retirement plan, or maybe it was a lifetime of being overshadowed by the lippy Bostonian who dresses like a thrift store lady on acid that made Perry deliver a perfectly timed hip check to send Tyler ass over tea kettle into a Toronto audience last night.

Tyler is confirmed by his bandmate Tom Hamilton to have finalized his American Idol deal, which would leave Perry to performing at the Cape Cod Melody Tent in some version of Aerosmith sans Tyler.

"American Idol" pits talent in the age brackets of 15-28. Tyler is 62. Other possible judge Jennifer Lopez allegedly asked for $20-million a year, plus her own hair and makeup team and her own “dressing room compound,” and is rumored to be a bit too much for producers to handle.

Tyler is seen gently giving Perry a hip bump on stage, and Joe Perry slowly turned around and walked over to Tyler, bent over and precarious on the edge of the stage. Perry delivers his cue ball precision tap with just the right amount of force, and hip checked Tyler right off the stage.

When Tyler sees the playback on this video, he's not going to like it. Maybe this hastened his Idol deal:
