Vindicated!! Actor and rapper Ice-T of the US and his wife Nicole \'Coco\' Austin arrive for the premier of the film \'The Other Guys\' in New York, New York, USA, on 02 August 2010. The film opens in the United States on 06 August 2010. EPA/JUSTIN LANE
Just like a scene from Dick Wolf's "Law & Order," where the defendant is inside a packed courthouse and the prosecuting attorney is about to have his case blown up, rapper turned actor Ice-T, who stars in Wolf's long running series "Law & Order: Special Victim's Unit" as Det. Finn, showed up a New York policeman who arrested him.
Earlier this month, Ice-T was arrested for driving without valid insurance; he said last month when he was arrested that he had a valid New Jersey license. Prosecutors said Tuesday that New York Department of Motor Vehicles records wrongly reflected that his license was suspended because of a lack of insurance. His 2009 Cadillac is insured and registered in New Jersey. Ice-T told reporters he would have his day in court and said, "I’ll prove my innocence just like we do on Law & Order."
Ice-T was acquitted on the charges this morning; his insurance was valid, but the DMV had not updated its records.
